Troubleshooting in the Calcualtion of ICG-Rmax Value

Abstract
Background:
ICG-Rmax test has been widely used because it is considered to be a precise predictor of successful hepatic resection in hepatoma patients. When using conventional simplified procedure, the calculated results are very variable depending on
the
methods to draw the plasma ICG disappearance curve or due to other variable errors. We propose some solutions for these problems.
Methods:
We introduced several new variables (¡âVd, VR, etc) which can help to draw the appropriate plasma ICG disappearance curve and correct other errors. We applied these methods in calculating 50 cases of Rmax test and analyzed the process of
obtaining
the results.
Results:
We could draw the appropriate plasma IGC disappearance curve with the help of these variables. Moreover, by this method we decided the objective and acceptable results in the 46 cases of Rmax test among the 50 cases.
Conclusion:
We recommend these methods for resolving the problems met in the calculation of ICG-Rmax test.
